We are looking for a Social Media Marketing Manager to take a leading role in developing our Xbox social media channels to be best in class.
This Social Media Marketing Manager will join an existing team of experienced and driven social media marketers.
- They will be adept in combining data, insights, creative and a deep knowledge of social media platforms to drive social marketing campaigns that engage and delight our target audiences.
- They will have a passion for creating engaging and innovative digital content, and a drive to evaluate and learn from the impact of that content.

Within the Gaming team at Microsoft, we are focused on evolving the way we engage with consumers and how we use a variety of channels to build deeper and more meaningful relationships. Social media is at the heart of this evolution with a focus on targeted engagement, channel optimized content and channel driven innovation, that is grounded in consumer research and insights.
We are looking for someone who can help us take our social programs and strategies to the next level, using new and innovative approaches tailored for each channel, leveraging more of data to build the insights to connect closer to our audiences, and building content programs designed for social media channels.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about trends in social media landscape, and able to merge that expertise with business objectives and customer insights to deliver truly impactful social programs. You will need to be aware of the competitive landscape, the conversations and sentiment in the social media realm, and use that information to deliver more relevant and engaging social experiences.
Responsibilities
- Manage a variety of social media projects and campaigns across multiple lines of business within Xbox.
- Deliver effective, engaging, innovative and optimized creative across multiple social media channels.
- Work effectively with our Xbox social media agency of record to ensure quality work is delivered on time and to budget.
- Partner effectively with internal Xbox teams across multiple lines of business to build trust and land deliverables.
- Partner with Xbox teams across multiple markets and regions to deliver relevant, timely and localized content optimised for local audiences.
- Evaluate data, report results, and deliver insights back to the business in a way that benefits the Xbox Social Media team and the wider teams we engage with.
- Land social paid media projects and campaigns to ensure our activity is being delivered to the right customers, at the right time, on the right platforms.
- Drive innovation and a test-and-learn approach to ensure Xbox Social is at the forefront of digital and social marketing.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of digital marketing expertise, with at least 3 years of social media experience, particularly advertising, programmatic, social, search, content marketing.
- Experience working across multiple markets and regions and an understanding of the textured nature of global marketing.
- Ability to toggle between right brain and left-brain skills whether it be driving data-based planning and activation or creating strategies for engaging new content delivery strategies.
- Technical, in-depth knowledge of social media buying and an understanding of all major social media platforms.
- Experience tailoring social media content to discrete audience groups, especially young Millennials and Gen Z, with a passion for and understanding of wider pop culture influences.
- Experience working large-scale consumer-facing events and creating quality, engaging social media content in real time.
- Proven ability to operate successfully in a highly matrixed organization across multiple groups and business owners.
- Understanding of broader digital marketing channels, namely web, relationship marketing and paid media, and the ability to align social strategies into omnichannel campaigns that create personalized experiences for our gaming audiences.
- Must have the ability to work under constant deadline pressure and manage multiple projects across multiple lines of business.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including presenting to executive management teams and influencing partner teams.
- Ability to initiate and drive opportunities independently, while operating in an environment that changes quickly.
- High levels of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm with a strong sense of accountability.
- Experience with lifestyle, subscription or technology brands. Experience in gaming is a big plus.
- BA/BS in marketing, economics, or related discipline preferred.
