I The Game Awards 2025 hanno incoronato i migliori videogiochi dell’anno in una serata ricca di annunci, trailer e inevitabili discussioni. Tutti gli occhi erano puntati su Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, forte del record di candidature e considerato da molti il favorito assoluto per il GOTY. Le aspettative non sono state tradite: il titolo di Sandfall Studio ha conquistato il premio più ambito, imponendosi come una delle produzioni più influenti della sua generazione.
Il trionfo non si ferma al Game of the Year. Expedition 33 domina numerose categorie chiave: miglior direzione, miglior narrativa, miglior direzione artistica e miglior colonna sonora, confermando la qualità del progetto a 360 gradi. Porta a casa anche i premi come miglior gioco indipendente, miglior debutto indie e miglior RPG, un risultato che raramente si vede in un singolo evento. Jennifer English riceve inoltre il riconoscimento come miglior performance, grazie all’interpretazione della protagonista Maelle.
In un panorama competitivo, alcuni titoli riescono comunque a emergere. Battlefield 6 si aggiudica il premio per il miglior audio design, mentre Hades II conquista quello di miglior action game. Hollow Knight: Silksong si distingue come miglior action adventure e No Man’s Sky viene premiato come miglior ongoing game, confermando un percorso di rinnovamento iniziato anni fa. Donkey Kong Bananza ottiene il riconoscimento nella categoria family game, mentre Mario Kart World vince per sports/racing.
Sul fronte delle aspettative future, Grand Theft Auto VI conquista il titolo di Most Anticipated Game, dimostrando ancora una volta la portata del fenomeno mediatico che circonda la serie. Wuthering Waves vince il Players’ Voice Award, unico titolo a battere Expedition 33 grazie al voto diretto dei giocatori, mentre il riconoscimento Game Changer va a Girls Make Games, realtà impegnata a promuovere la formazione delle nuove generazioni nel settore videoludico.
