Gli Emmy Awards 2025 hanno messo in evidenza la grande varietà e qualità della televisione contemporanea. A dominare la scena è stata la commedia The Studio, che con ben 12 premi – inclusi miglior serie comica e miglior attore protagonista per Seth Rogen – ha battuto ogni record, diventando la serie più premiata in una singola stagione e la più vincente al debutto.
Sul fronte drammatico, la vittoria è andata a The Pitt, che ha ottenuto anche riconoscimenti per Noah Wyle come miglior attore protagonista e Katherine LaNasa come miglior attrice non protagonista. Non meno rilevante il successo di Adolescence, serie limitata che ha raccolto sei premi e segnato un primato storico: Owen Cooper, 15 anni, è diventato il più giovane attore maschio a ricevere un Emmy.
Grande serata anche per The Penguin, con 9 premi complessivi e il riconoscimento a Cristin Milioti come miglior attrice in una serie limitata, al suo primo Emmy in carriera. Tra gli altri vincitori spiccano Britt Lower per Severance e Tramell Tillman come miglior attore non protagonista, sempre per la stessa serie.
Meno soddisfazioni invece per The Last of Us, che nonostante le nomination di peso ha portato a casa solo il premio per il montaggio sonoro. Da segnalare anche il successo di programmi di varietà come Last Week Tonight With John Oliver e dello speciale SNL50: The Anniversary Special.
